Only Rebels Win, 2026 LFF Adelaide
The 2026 Lebanese Film Festival in Adelaide was a wonderful celebration of Lebanese storytelling, culture, and community spirit, bringing together audiences for an inspiring program of contemporary Lebanese cinema.
Over five memorable screenings, festival-goers enjoyed a diverse range of films that explored themes of love, resilience, family, identity, humour, and social change. From the emotional depth of A Sad and Beautiful World to the romantic comedy of Liste De Marriage, the festival once again demonstrated the strength and creativity of Lebanese filmmakers and their ability to connect with audiences across generations. We manage to fill the theatre each night over two weekends and reflect on the impact of the films over coffee and treats after each film.
A key ingredient in the festival’s success was the outstanding support received from local businesses and community partners. ALCASA is proud to have worked alongside the Lebanese Film Festival to not only promote Lebanese arts and culture but also showcase some of Adelaide’s finest local food and hospitality businesses.
Festival attendees were treated to exceptional coffee, tea, sweet delicacies, and savoury delights, adding another layer of warmth and hospitality to the cinema experience. We extend our sincere appreciation to the businesses whose generosity and support helped make the festival such an enjoyable and welcoming event:
These businesses represent the entrepreneurial spirit, quality, and hospitality that are hallmarks of our community. Their involvement allowed festival patrons to discover and support local enterprises while enjoying a rich cultural experience.
The collaboration between ALCASA and the Lebanese Film Festival continues to demonstrate the power of community partnerships in promoting both cultural engagement and local business. By bringing people together through film, food, conversation, and shared experiences, we strengthen the connections that make our community vibrant and welcoming.
As we reflect on another successful festival, we are already looking forward to an exciting milestone ahead. In 2027, both ALCASA and the Lebanese Film Festival will celebrate 15 years of service to the community. This remarkable achievement provides an opportunity to honour our shared journey, acknowledge the many volunteers, supporters, sponsors, and attendees who have contributed to our success, and plan an even bigger celebration for next year’s festival.
We thank everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this year’s event. Together, we continue to promote Lebanese culture, support local businesses, and build a stronger, more connected community.
We look forward to celebrating our shared 15th anniversary with you in 2027 and welcoming audiences to what promises to be a very special Lebanese Film Festival.
